Reinventing the business book – volume by volume, page by page

We at Follett Publishing believe that business books can be imaginative.

Beautiful.

Artsy.

Thrilling.

Illuminating.

Humorous.

Fun.

Which is why we got into editing and producing books ourselves, in the first place.

Follett Publishing pioneers practical, contemporary organizational theory. Our books are unlike most others. They are incredibly to the point. Visualized and fully colored. Inspiring. Featuring cutting-edge insight. And we strive to make them enormously entertaining. In short: We want to make books that deserve to be called "cool". Readers of our first book, Organize for Complexity, published in 2014, gave us a big thumbs up for our approach. We took that as a call to action!

Before Silke and Niels started taking their publishing business in English into their own hands, however, what they heard from publishers and agents was usually this: "This kind of book will never work. Publishers will not buy it, nor will readers!" Turns out that the very same things that could supposedly never work got done sooner or later, and successfully so.

Here is what we are attempting to do:

  • We bring the most avant-garde content to market.
  • We present the content in contemporary visual style & book design,
  • We market books at highly accessible prices, with attractive volume discounts and worldwide distribution,
  • We have our authors naturally supporting each other's book projects and launches,
  • We offer crisp prose, free of story-telling (at least in our books so far).

That is the power of Follett Publishing. We want to push the boundaries of the business book much, much further out.

For authors

If you are an author yourself, you will know how frustrating the business book market can be. The market is full of self-defying beliefs that cripple innovative content, book design and marketing approaches. Deep-rooted myths and dogmas inhibit fresh formats, and make conceiving cool books and formats hard, or even impossible. With Follett Publishing, we want to overcome those barriers.

What others say about our books

“Organize for Complexity is one of the very best books I’ve read about change and how to successfully thrive within organizational life. Niels has thought deeply about organizational development.”

Michael Bungay Stanier

"At a very reasonable price, every company should just buy several copies, read them, and see how they can implement these ideas."

Harold Jarche

"In Pflaegings book, the network organization gains contour. All that is beautifully visualized. In short, Niels Pflaeging shows how to build the New Organization, encouraging us to begin building it. It´s the agenda 2014, if you will."

changeX

“This is a high-potential approach and OpenSpace Beta is a book recommendation for anyone who wants to change their organizations.”

getAbstract

"Very inspiring, highly likable format. This book is fun!"

"To me, even after this brief period, the book has become a frequently consulted source informing my work".

"A book that comes handy, is easy to read, but without being fuzzy or lacking precision. It presents a credible big picture of contemporary Organizational Development. "

“OpenSpace Beta follows such a clear system and is so coherent in structure that one quickly doesn’t just believe that organizational transformation in 90 days is possible. One also begins to wonder whether all those 90 days will really be necessary.”

KND book review

“OpenSpace Beta is extremely exciting. Very well thought-out.

And it carries a big promise.”

Winfried Kretschmer, changeX
